How To Make Glasses From Bottles.
The three parts of a bottle are the neck, body and mouth with the area from the neck being slender than the rest of the body. Historically, glass bottle production can be of sheet glass or from glass container glass and can be manufactured by the process of blow and blow process or the press and blow technique which involve the cutting of a stream of molten glass with a clipping blade to form glass cylinders known as gob. Manufactured bottles are used for different uses such as storage of perfumes, drinks and many other tasks.
There are different procedures on how one can make glasses out of a wine bottle which includes:
Use of flame to make a glass bottle. This procedure begins by scoring the bottle to create the line that the bottle will break off at using a glass cutter or a glass drill. The second step should be to heat the bottle while rotating it regularly to ensure the heat from a small candle or a small butane torch is evenly distributed. Thirdly, dip the end of the bottle you want to break off in a sink or pot full of water after 5 minutes heating. If the bottle does not break, repeat the process of heating and cooling until it breaks off as desired. Immediately the bottle breaks off rub its edges with a square sandpaper to smother the rough edges that may cut you and eventually with a finer grit sandpaper.
Cutting a glass bottle using a yarn.
First, wrap the yarn or cotton string around the bottle 3 to 5 times at the area where you would like the bottle to break, tie the ends together and cut the excesses. The string or the cotton yarn is then removed from the bottle gently and placed on a dish where nail polish remover or straight-up acetone is added over the yarn until it soaks completely while the excesses are poured into the bottle. Place the yarn back to the area of the break off with the loops of the yarn close together and tight so that you get a level and clean break. Rotate the bottle slowly after lighting the yarn on fire so that the yarn burns at a consistent speed around the entire bottle. To cut off the glass, dip it in a sink or pot full of cold water which should be after the yarn has burnt out until the glass is cut. Use a rough sandpaper to smoothen the edges and then a finer grit sandpaper.
